USEFUL INFORMATION

  • 1. WALKING THE COTSWOLDS: Generally speaking our walks fall into the categories of 'easy' or 'easy to moderate' and are therefore well within the capability of anyone of average fitness. Some days are longer than others, however, so please ask for guidance and we will be happy to advise. The routes generally make use of 'rights of way' across farmland and along country tracks and lanes.
  • 2. WHAT TO BRING: We recommend sturdy walking boots and socks, rainwear, and backpack with water bottle, sunhat/cream, insect repellent, first aid kit.
  • 3.PRIVATE FACILITIES: This refers to a bathroom for your exclusive use. Generally, such bathrooms are en-suite but in some older buildings your bathroom may be close by in order to preserve architectural integrity or in order to maintain the size of the bedroom.
  • 4. LUNCHES and DINNERS: In the course of your walks, you will usually pass a pub where you can have lunch. Alternatively, in most of the villages where you overnight you will find shops where you can buy sandwiches in advance. Similarly, most of the overnight villages offer a choice of restaurants and pubs where you can buy dinner in the evening.
  • 5. GUIDES and TAILOR-MADE ITINERARIES: We employ a number of well-informed local guides - please ask about rates and availability if would like a guide for all or a portion of your holiday. We can also put together an itinerary to suit your needs.
  • 6. INSURANCE: You are advised to take out holiday insurance that covers you against cancellation, illness and injury.
