| A six night holiday with three nights in the beautiful Regency town of Cheltenham, ideal for walking the nearby Churn and Coln valleys; and three in one of the finest of Cotswold villages, Painswick, where you can explore the hidden valleys of the south Cotswolds, with their strong links to the weaving industry and with the work of the writer Laurie Lee. Leave any day you like subject to accommodation availability. Start either in Painswick or Cheltenham. |

| Day 1: overnight in Cheltenham, a handsome town noted for its Regency architecture and its many festivals. |
| Day 2: The Churn Valley (19 kms/12 miles) |
| From Leckhampton Hill to Hartley Wood, and so to the village of Coberley and the pubs at Cockleford and Colesbourne. Continue to one of the disputed sources of the River Thames at Seven Springs and then back to Cheltenham. |
| Day 3: Cheltenham and the Coln Valley (19kms/12 miles) |
| Head out through Charlton Kings (where Lewis Carroll met Alice Liddell, the Alice of 'Alice in Wonderland' and 'Alice through the Looking Glass') to Lineover Woods and through a series of small villages eventually joining the Cotswold Way to Cheltenham. |
| Day 4: Cheltenham to Painswick (20 kms/13 miles) |
| Walk up Leckhampton Hill and along the Cotswold escarpment with outstanding views west towards the Malverns and the Welsh Mountains. Thence to Sheepscombe, prettily strung across a secluded valley, and so to Painswick, 'Queen of the Cotswolds'. Overnight in Painswick with accommodation for three nights. |
| Day 5: Painswick Beacon, Washbrook and Lower Painswick Valley (9kms/7 miles) |
| This is a walk with wonderful hilltop views and valley scenery typical of this part of the Cotswolds. For a less energetic day you could walk up to Painswick Beacon and return via the Rococo Gardens at Painswick House. |
| Day 6: Painswick to Bisley crossing the Painswick, Slad and Toadsmoor Valleys (17kms/11 miles) |
| A walk with some of the most outstanding scenery in the Cotswolds, including the gorgeous village of Bisley and the area that was home to Laurie Lee, author of the classic 'Cider with Rosie'. |
