Comments & Testimonials

I had an incredible time on my trip!!! The places I stayed were charming, warm and comfortable. The trail was very easy to follow, especially with the gps! I felt like I was in a fairytale the whole time. As a single woman traveler in their early 40’s, I also felt very safe. I have been recommending it to everyone. Also, a photographer’s dream!

We just came back from a 4 day hiking trip of the Cotswolds Triangle. We had a fantastic time!

Everything was very well organised and attention was paid to every single detail (e.g. luggage tags, a plastic cover for our booklet with directions, good suggestions for wining and dining).

Communication with the company leading up to our trip, also went very smoothly. I would definitely use Cotswolds Walks again and would highly recommend it to anyone who wishes to explore the beautiful Cotswolds.

We absolutely loved our walking tour. We thoroughly enjoyed Zoe at the Old Bakehouse in Chipping Campden. We have a wonderfully serendipitous moment in Winchcombe when we were interviewed by David Bailey from the BBC—it was the 10th anniversary of the opening of The Cotswold Way, and we had walked some of it that day.

We do wish we had done more days & shorter distances so that we could enjoy the villages more. Overall, we really did have a wonderful time and are very glad we did it. Thank you so much!

We really enjoyed our CW. For us, a real highlight was seeing so much of the countryside and beautiful homes that we miss when driving.

Everything went really well. The B&B choices were excellent. The instructions were great, especially once we figured out the logic and nature of the different paths (which only took us a few hours on the first morning).

15 miles a day was decent although I could barely lift my legs over styles at the end. We stopped every 2 hours or so for a coffee or snack so we walked from 9-530/6 each day. Averaging about 2 miles an hour.

We got lucky - no rain, mostly clouds so not too sunny. A great experience and we felt well introduced to walking tours in the UK and will definitely do more.

I’ve been meaning to tell you what a great time we had doing the Cotswold Triangle, June 8-11.

The accommodations were very nice (all locations), the walks were fantastic, the weather was surprisingly nice (it is England of course), and we met many nice people along the way.

All in all, it couldn’t have been better, and I assume we were the ideal guests since we never once had to call or complain. Thank you for the lovely job you did.

Our walking tour through the cotswolds was nearly the best holidays we ever had. The landscape is magnificent, the people very friendly, the B & B charming and the Pubs are a pleasure. Wolfgang enjoyed the ample choice of real ale and he was determined to taste as many as possible.

I just want to say thanks for all your help organizing our walking holiday in Cotswolds. We had a really good time. The places you book for us to stay were all very nice. Please say hi to June from us when you talk to her. She is a lovely person :-) It was a little misunderstanding regarding our late arrival the first night we stayed at her place, but it wasn't a big problem.

The route notes you sent us were informative and helpful. The first day felt a bit longer than we expected, so we were quite tired when we arrived Chipping Camden. The other 2 days were easier. We concluded that 3 days with that long distances each day were suitable for us.

The area we walked in was beautiful. We had no rain and the temperature was perfect for walking.

We were impressed how well it is organized for walking tourism in England (or at least in Cotswold), with footpaths and signposting.

My trip went smoothly - I enjoyed it very much! The last day from Stow-on-the-Wold to Winchcombe was the loveliest - I very much liked the woods, the little wooden alleys and the two Slaughters (I made a detour to see Lower Slaughter as well - which you could actually include in your booklet - it's not such a big thing to walk there and it's really worth it!). And Sudeley Castle was just fab - just for me they've organized a wedding reception so I could feel like being in a movie or something like it :-)

Daily distances just right for us, leaving accommodation around 9am walking at a leisurely pace, stopping several times for liquid refreshments and spending a little time in each village and reaching our evening accommodation around 5pm. Our day 3 from Winchcombe to Chipping Campden was probably toughest in terms of steepness with ascents Hailes to Beckbury, upon leaving Buckland to Broadway Tower. Stow to Winchcombe on day 2 stands out with the varying landscapes of river, woods and descent through rolling countryside to Sudeley Castle. Passing through quaint pretty villages of Upper Slaughter, Naunton & Guiting Power and enjoying pints of locally brewed beer in The Black Horse Pub & The Farmers Arms Pub. I think only twice did we veer a short distances off course and had to retrace our steps these were in fields where the paths were difficult to follow. But this is all part of the experience and we always knew the general direction that we were heading.

We loved our holiday, just loved it! We constantly remarked about how much work it must have taken to document all those hiking trails! Mindblowing! On top of that, your overall service was astoundingly good, from the friendly and helpful emails you sent answering our questions, to your offer to transfer us to the steam train, to the transfer of our luggage, to the provision of all the necessary maps and instructions to complete the walk. The accommodations you picked out for us were all top notch. All in all, we were extremely happy. My only complaint is I actually gained two pounds while on the walk, but I put that down to our daily visit to "the local pub" in some small, beautiful town (fish and chips are fattening). The countryside in southern England is, bar none, the most beautiful we have seen anywhere. Our breath was taken away over and over again.
