THE WINDRUSH WAY - a short break linking Bourton-on-the-Water with Winchcombe. Leave any day you like subject to accommodation availability.

A delightful two-day tour, with three nights accommodation, in the prettiest part of the Cotswolds. Starting at Bourton-on-the-Water, pass through the much-loved Lower and Upper Slaughter, the untouched villages of Naunton and Guiting Power before making the panoramic descent to Winchcombe and Sudeley Castle, once home to Catherine Parr. On the second day the tour takes a southerly line before following the charming River Windrush into Bourton-on-the-Water. Or you can have the first night in Winchcombe, walking to Bourton and walking back to Winchcombe.

Day 1: Arrive in Bourton-on-the-Water.Your documentation will await you at your accommodation. There is much to enjoy in the 'Venice of the Cotswolds' , not least the River Windrush and it succession of little stone bridges. Overnight in Bourton.Day 2: Walk Bourton to Winchcombe.A lovely route through Lower Slaughter, with its mill, and Upper Slaughter with its ford. Continue through the impossibly pretty villages of Naunton and Guiting Power (both with god pubs), before passing the house where George III paused on his journey from Cheltenham as you descend into Winchcombe. Overnight Winchcombe. 21 kms/13 milesDay 3: Walk Winchcombe to Bourton-on-the-Water.The return route takes you back past Sudeley Castle and then up to the Cotswold escarpment and onto the old Salt Way. Continue to Hawling, then pass the sites of vanished medieval villages before rejoining the Windrush as it burbles into Bourton. Overnight Bourton. 21 kms/13 milesDay 4: Depart after breakfast.
