DAY ONE

Arrive in Chipping Campden

Arrive in Chipping Campden and check-in to the hotel. Depending on what time you arrive you can explore the village and it's many historical attractions. Guided walking tours of the town can also be arranged with prior notice.
DAY TWO

Walk to Hidcote and Kiftsgate Court gardens
7 miles/11.2 km

Enjoy a short walk to discover 2 of England's most celebrated gardens. Hidcote was designed and created by the horticulturist Major Lawrence Johnston in the Arts and Crafts style and made up of beautiful garden rooms, each possessing it its own unique character. After lunch we visit Kiftsgate garden which has drawn its inspiration from 3 generations of women gardeners and has marvellous views across the Vale of Evesham. Either walk back or have a taxi transfer to Chipping Campden, one of the finest of the Cotswold 'wool' towns, where we see the 15th-century parish church, the 17th-century almshouses and market hall, and the remains of Campden House, which was destroyed in the English Civil War. Free time. Overnight The Cotswold House Hotel.
DAY THREE

The Cotswold Olimpicks and Broadway Tower
6 miles/9.6 km

This linear walk takes you to Dover's Hill, the site of the annual Cotswolds Olimpicks, founded by Robert Dover in 1612. The original games incorporated singlestick, wrestling, jumping in sacks, dancing and even shin-kicking which is still continued to this day. The hill affords wonderful views of the Vale of Evesham below. Continue on to Broadway Tower, a folly built by the Earl of Coventry for his wife and on a clear day 16 different counties can be seen. It's downhill all the way to Broadway, which once boasted 30 coaching inns. This wonderful picturesque village with its "wide" street makes a fitting end and a welcome break for a cup of tea and a slice of cake before returning to Chipping Campden by taxi.
Depart.
