  • Can I change the dates of my holiday after I have booked?

We will do our best to accommodate any changes if notified immediately once the deposit has been collected. We reserve the right to charge a £25 admin. fee to cover our time and expenses in making these alterations in some cases.

  • Can I extend my holiday by booking extra nights?

Yes. You can book as many extra nights as you wish subject to availability.

  • Do bed sizes differ in the UK?

Please be aware when choosing your preferred bed option as a double room means one large bed and the bed is normally 4ft 6in wide by 6ft 3in length. A twin room has 2 single beds each 3ft wide and 6ft 3in length. A King size bed is 5ft wide and 6ft 6in length.

  • Do I need to book any accommodation at the beginning or at the end of my walk?

No. The holiday price includes accommodation at the start of the trail, the night before you start walking and at the end of the trail after you have finished walking.

  • Do the self-guided walks start on a fixed date?

You can start a self-guided walking holiday on any date you want. Simply tell us the date you would like to arrive. You start walking the following day after breakfast. We make suggestions about proposed start dates to avoid 2 night stays where we feel these might impact on the duration of your holiday.

  • Do you arrange luggage transfers between overnights along the trail?

Yes, on all our holidays we transfer your luggage (one bag per person) between your accommodations along the trail. If you have extra luggage that is not needed it can be stored at the first night’s location if you are returning or taken to the last night’s stay to avoid unnecessary moves.

  • Do you provide maps and a guidebook to the trail?

We provide the most up to date route notes and maps in a handy sized booklet that is easy to read and has the route marked on the map. We also supply a general information booklet that contains village maps, accommodation details, historical information about the villages and suggested places to eat each evening.

  • How long are your self-guided walking holidays?

Our walking holidays are as flexible as possible. You can start on any day and stay for as long as you wish. From one night to eleven we are happy to provide a tailor made tour to suit your needs.

  • What meals are provided?

Almost all the accommodation providers will be able to deal with special dietary requirements if told in advance. Any advice you can offer us on how to facilitate this better will always be appreciated. Yes. Vegetarian meals are always available. Please tell us of this requirement when booking. We may also be able to cater for more restricted diets, but please check with us first before booking.

  • What type of accommodation is it?

On a self-guided walking holiday, where each night spent at a different location, we have to make use of a wide variety of accommodations. These range from hotels, inns and guesthouses to small B&B's. Many are historic buildings with character and charm, they are all comfortable and offer warm welcome and have been personally selected and inspected by us. We fully appreciate our reputation and your enjoyment of the holiday is dependent on good quality accommodation, friendly hosts and a hearty breakfast. All the rooms we book are en-suite. If for some reason this is not available then a private bathroom will be provided. No shared bathrooms will be booked unless agreed with a client in advance.

  • What's included in the price?

From the moment you visit our website and send us your first enquiry we are on hand to answer all your questions to help give you peace of mind and make your walking tour the best it can be. We book your accommodation, move your luggage each day as necessary, provide walking notes and maps and local support once you are here should you need it. We will always endeavour to come and personally meet any clients that wish us to during their stay although this is not a normal part of every tour.

  • When will I know the names of my accommodation?

As soon as we receive your booking form we will start to reserve the accommodation and the full list will be provided at the time of paying the deposit. If for some reason you wish to change any of the accommodation please tell us at this time so we can offer an alternative.

  • What should I bring?

  • What's the best time of the year for walking?

There is a saying that says there is no such thing as bad weather just inappropriate clothing. All the same we all like to be prepared. This country is famous for being a bit unpredictable when it comes to the weather. At times we’ve been wearing shorts in February and coats in July so the best way to answer that question is that it could be hot or cold, wet or dry with possibly a bit of a breeze, and then again maybe not. So to give you some idea of how the weather is behaving here in the Cotswolds at any given time please follow this link; http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/

What else?

  • I want to walk on a trail not on your website, will you organise it for me?

  • Can I bring my dog with me?

Yes you can providing it is well behaved and any accidental damage caused would need to be paid for. Please contact us for further details.

  • Do I need to have a mobile phone with me?

If you have a mobile phone that will work in the UK then it is always a good idea to bring it with you. Further details will be provided in your pre-tour document which we send to you after you have paid your deposit.

  • I'm travelling on my own, can I go on one of your walks?

Yes you can. For people travelling on their own there is a single supplement. This is to cover the extra costs of a single room or single occupancy of twin or double rooms; baggage transfers for one rather than two people and for providing a set of maps and a guidebook for one rather than two people.
