Comments & Testimonials

One of the best trips ever. Many thanks to Adam for preparing my trip and securing wonderful accommodations. The bottom line is that I would highly recommend your company to family and friends interested in hiking the Cotswolds. So glad my neighbours recommended your group to me several months ago. Again, a delightful trip in a wonderful part of the world.

We enjoyed our trip very much and found Barbara to be particularly helpful and excellent with all details. Your company was also very accommodating when we wanted to spend one less night in The Cotswolds and you arranged transportation from chipping Campden to London. The B&Bs were all adequate and clean. The one in Broadway was particularly nice.

We had an excellent time on our walking tour. The written directions were clear and the app was a helpful backup. The Cotswold Walks team was helpful in guiding us to the right walk and in accommodating our special request for a side trip off the route to Kelmscott Manor. We enjoyed meeting our fellow walkers, but seeing a big group on a guided tour confirmed for us that self-guided is the better way to go. We had a wonderful trip and didn’t want it to end.

We had a very fun trip to the Cotswolds and enjoyed all aspects of our adventure with Cotswold Walks. The walks were fantastic and the GPS app was very easy to follow. We were blessed with good weather and lots of solitude on the trail.

I just want to say that I would like to commend your Company for an excellently run event. We were very lucky to be in Cotswolds when the weather was perfect and everything to do with the running of it went well. The assistance you gave when one of our members found she wasn’t up to the walk was appreciated. The maps and App were really clear.

Thank you for supplying a guide for the first day. Andrew was perfect and as well as being a great guide he was very patient, kind and considerate. The route notes were excellent but I'm pleased you persuaded several of the group to download the ap as it proved invaluable.

My husband and I completed the lovely circular route in the picture perfect Cotswolds in June. We started and ended in Moreton-In-Marsh. This was our 8th self guided walk and perhaps the best. We’ve used several companies to organize walks and also done the planning ourselves. Cotswold Walks supplied maps and descriptive directions that were excellent. The addition of GPS routes with Ride made the walk that much easier.

The various overnight stays were also great. My favorite was Russell’s on Broadway. Absolutely fabulous! Also excellent was the Manor House in Moreton-In-Marsh.

We look forward to our next walk with you.

We had an absolutely fantastic holiday -- it exceeded our expectations in every way. I plan to leave a 5 star review on Trip Advisor.

Some things that really stood out: Everything went so smoothly -- the accommodations were terrific and the route notes were easy to follow. Our luggage always beat us to the next accommodation. The planning was absolutely flawless. I loved the written route notes and my husband loved the app. Having both really helped resolve any ambiguities.

June 2023

Thank you so much for organizing such a great walk for us. We generally had a wonderful time. We were especially impressed with the Ride with GPS program. We managed to get ourselves lost several times with the booklet, but Ride with GPS saved us every time. We loved the scenery around Farmcote and the Slaughters and dinner at Stowe Lodge was a real highlight. Although we saw many other hikers when we were in towns, we loved the fact that when walking we seemed to have the trails to ourselves.

Just wanted to thank you for all of your help and advice for our trip. We thoroughly enjoyed every part of it. The maps and the app were extremely helpful.  We never got lost! The B&Bs were all lovely and our drivers right on time and very helpful.
Also thank you for the gorgeous weather😊

October 2022

Route notes were excellent, complete, and easy to follow. The app was also excellent, a terrific way to check to make sure we were on the right path. One of us preferred using the paper route notes; the other preferred using the app. So, perfect for both of us.

The route was beautiful, with enough variety to keep it interesting, and enough time at each destination to explore.
We enjoyed the Tokien/Lord of the Rings connections.

Thanks for a wonderful holiday. I just posted my 5* review on TripAdvisor. Everything worked perfectly. Your guide was amazing. We rarely had to consult the GPS app.

September 2022

My husband and I had a lovely time in the Cotswolds. The weather was perfect for hiking.

The route notes were terrific. My husband was the navigator, and we only made one mistake on the way to Upper Slaughter. We ended up in Lower Slaughter first, realized our mistake, and then just walked a different way to Upper. The photos in the guide book that indicated 'here' or 'not here' were most helpful. We never really needed to use the Riding app, but I tried it out for fun to see if I (navigationally challenged), could manage with it, and I did. Along the route we met other hikers that used different tour companies. Our route notes helped them out when they were confused and not sure where to go. Kudos to you.

And thank you to the luggage man! Our bags were always waiting for us at our accommodations. We never had to worry about anything.

And thank you for the email about the shops and restaurants being closed for the Queen's funeral. Very helpful.

September 2022

Thank you for helping us navigate the beautiful Cotswolds during September 2022. It was a glorious time with almost no rain, vibrant colours, and berries galore along the trails. We loved the well-maintained walking paths through raw country fields and woodlands, with just enough opportunity along the way to investigate a small village where a centuries-old pub would draw us into a cosy booth for a sandwich and a sample of local ale or cider. The phone app you provided gave clear guidance of the route and was helpful in a hundred ways.

Every Brit we spoke with seemed determined to outdo the previous in courtesy and helpfulness. And, while there exist horror stories of British cuisine, you will get no such tales from us. The Pubs and Hotels served delicious food, and the goal of walking off more calories than we consumed failed miserably. Conversations with other walkers made us wish we had endless days to share stories or cultivate friendships; it was often hard to go our separate ways.

Your assistance in organizing our accommodations and walking routes was invaluable, saving us countless hours of planning in locations of which you had intimate knowledge, but we knew almost nothing. And the service that advanced our luggage worked flawlessly; never a problem. Our forgetfulness that resulted in a missed taxi was gently handled and our additional walk for the day was lamented not at all. We enjoyed a double dose of resplendent Cotswold countryside, and the extra images of heritage houses, quaint villages, and historic churches continue to remind us daily that we hope to return soon and experience it all again.

Back home safe and sound, but it's taking a bit of time to catch up to reality.

First of all, I want to thank you and everyone in Cotswold Walks for organizing our walking tour. I absolutely love our holiday and more importantly all the walking we embarked upon. The weather God was also smiling upon us as he graced us with perfect days for walking. Mind you, there was one day of showers and wind but better than a downpouring rain.

Very hard to choose memorable moments as they all are on their own... but my favorite by far are the Upper and Lower Slaughter. We enjoyed it so much that we walked there twice! Stanton is also quite memorable for it complete serenity. It's the most peaceful place I've ever been!! I would gladly stay there again if given the chance.

I thought the walking trails and distance were just right...not too hard and not too easy. The details of the written directions and the pictures provided for some were extremely helpful. The GPS was reassuring to have. We probably relied on it much more than we needed.  All of the accommodations are excellent! The hosts are very gracious and friendly.

Just wanted to thank you. Our trip was absolutely wonderful, we enjoyed every minute. Your group really has everything planned so well from the drivers, the bnbs, their hosts and breakfasts, the pubs, the villages, the history, the countryside and the booklets we received with maps. Also every place we went for dinner was delicious. We also met so, so many nice people along the way. I have been recommending this trip to everyone I know who loves to travel.
We may have to do it again at some time, maybe another walk through the Cotswolds, although we loved this one so much. Thank you again for everything. You were always so helpful!

I can honestly say that it was the best vacation of my life! We loved every minute of it and with your planning it went without a hitch! We did manage to get turned around twice during the walk, which we put down to our own error by misreading the map instructions, but were easily able to get back on track. All of the accommodations provided friendly owners, great breakfasts and locations.

I organize African safaris, so I am very choosy about who I use when I travel. Cotswold walks is the best choice for walks in the area. Everything down to the last detail was taken care of and we even got a visit on our first day from the owner to make sure we were all set.

My wife and I just completed our second walking excursion with Cotswold Walks. Our first was six years ago and it was our favourite vacation in over 40 years of marriage. Our recent vacation, 8 days of walking in “The Best of the Cotswolds” was equally memorable.
Our test of the quality of service is what happens when something goes slightly askew. Andrew and Adam were immediately on top of it when that happened, and a minor issue was immediately and satisfactorily addressed.
In short, our 7 days of rambling through gorgeous surroundings with first-rate hospitality were worry-free and thrilling. We’re already thinking of our next trip to the UK.

Have just arrived back in Australia after my UK trip and would like to thank you and your team for providing us with a fantastic 8 days walking in the Cotswolds at the beginning of our trip.

The accommodation, organisation and walking directions were first class and enabled us to enjoy each day to the max. I will recommend your business to all my friends and would love to do another walk through you in the future....

July 2018
The six of us have just returned to our respective cities in Canada after an enjoyable six days on the Best of Cotswolds walk. I have hiked the Coast to Coast and the West Highland Way. The walking in the Cotswolds is easier, the views often lovely if less wild and the pleasures perhaps more cultural than physical with towns architecturally and historically interesting.

The first booklet that CW gave us, the one outlining the history and features of different towns, was great; we gained a sense of the country we were travelling through. We realized we knew nothing about Catherine Parr, and kept digging to learn more. The churches in Longborough, Hailes, Stanton...

Navigating in the Cotswolds can be something of a challenge with all the kissing gates, successive fields and so on--- all in all a little more difficult than the C2C where we got lost on moors once or twice; we even had to use the OS ap on several occasions. The trip guidebook provided by Cotswold Walks was excellent. We met others who travelled with different firms who got really turned around. Cotswold Walks' booklet with photographs of problem areas and very detailed descriptions was probably the best we have ever used (one suggestion: the paragraph with "staying to the right of a large tree" on p.26 describing the shorter route to Wood Stanway could be rethought; there are a few large trees and fields there).

The accommodations were good. As were the pubs you suggested. On the second three days we were six; since it was a weekend, we reserved ahead, following your advice; in the White Hart in Winchcombe and the Russell in Broadway we were treated to (almost) private rooms: wonderful. One piece of advice for others: if possible, if you are staying at the two White Harts, in Moreton-in-Marsh and Winchcombe, try to get a room that is not on the street; otherwise, you might have to deal with some noise.

Organizing our tour, as you know all too well from your having to deal with our shifting plans, was a challenge. You did well by us. Thank you. I would recommend your company to anyone planning a walk in the Cotswolds.

June 2018

Dear Paul, Thank you so much for your feedback, we shall certainly look at your suggestion for the route. We are so glad you had a good trip and thank you again.
Many, many thanks for an amazing solo journey in the Cotswolds! I thoroughly enjoyed my "Best of the Cotswolds" route. The accommodations each evening were excellent. It was a delightful surprise each day to discover what my new "digs" were going to be and the hosts and staff were consistently gracious. Needless to say, the luggage transfer felt like a luxurious little godsend each day. The walking booklets are outstanding. I appreciated the pairing of well-written directions with sections of the Ordnance Survey maps. While it took me a little while to get used to the process, I never got lost or confused. Furthermore, as a woman traveling on my own throughout the journey, I felt comfortable and safe at all times. On a couple of occasions, I ended up walking for parts of a day with other people I met, and that was very enjoyable. Overall, though, I did most of my walking alone. I had hoped to experience a sense of solitude, independence, and renewal during my walks, and I certainly wasn't disappointed.

First, please know that this was one of the most wonderful experiences that I have had in my lifetime. This experience was truly enlightening and exhilarating. I loved it! I have already recommended this venture to several friends, urging them to use your company. I loved walking the English countryside, meeting the people, sharing time in the pubs, strolling in the quaint villages. My favorite activity was to find “the church” in each village and sit, just feeling the history and quiet in that space.…I loved that the churches were open to the public. I loved walking through fields of wheat, seeing sheep and cows, farms and estates….it was exhilarating to me simply to be on the land in such a way. Our weather was “almost” perfect; we had one day of rain, and one day of blistering heat…. the rest of it was perfect - cool and cloudy. The Brits whom we encountered were friendly and helpful. I want to come back and walk another one of the Cotswolds trips with your company, and bring my spouse this time. (I travelled with a friend on this recent trip.) I found Andrew very helpful, and am glad I chose you…. on the trip itself, our B&B hosts spoke very highly of your company; very much appreciated since I chose you online and had no idea how things would go….it was all a matter of faith.

I had never gone on a walking trip before. I did not want to tag along with a group, I wanted to enjoy the sights at my leisure and talk to others I met on the way. I hoped I wouldn't be lost or confused. The books and notes provided were detailed and clear. The few times I had to verify my location were times when I had been daydreaming or talking and had lost track of where I was in the guide. The entire experience was very pleasant. The scenery was excellent. I know you can't take blame or credit for the weather, but I had the best week of walking in May.
I used the route notes until I arrived at a village, and then switched to the accommodation notes. It wasn't difficult. It was a great experience. Your guide books had more information than others. We would compare notes as we were walking.

Dear Andrew, Today our group had a splendid walk from Moreton to Stow. I've done a little walking in the area previously, so please give my compliments to whoever does your routing for you. I thought the route we took today was the most beautiful walk I've ever had in the Cotswolds. Nothing like local knowledge to set the best itinerary. And the accommodations so far have been enjoyed by everyone. Thanks for putting together such a good trip for me and my friends.
Best,
Liz

I know you've been communicating with Liz on the details of our trip, but I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you. This has truly been an amazing vacation for all of us. We have loved the walking. The homes and hotels we have stayed in have been so gracious, and the baggage transfers have been flawless. It has been run so professionally, and we are all quite grateful.
Thanks so much,

We really did enjoy our Cotswold trip, and you did a wonderful job of putting together walks of the right length and arranging all the transportation. We realized in retrospect what a task that must have been! I have never stayed in a more "crooked house" than Redesdale Arms. Absolutely nothing was straight or level, but it was charming and authentic.

There was not a day that I did not have an OMG moment!! I couldn’t have managed the walking on my own without the EXCELLENT and detailed directions and maps – thank you so much. I had the most wonderful walk - on my own with my own thoughts for most of the time but thoroughly enjoyable. Everything was so well organised, accommodation and breakfasts first class and I would not hesitate to recommend your company to my many walking friends.

I’ve used your company before, and knew to expect good quality. In addition, the weather gods were with us! You give out detailed information on the walk and what to expect and are also very accommodating in answering any questions one may have by e-mail. Guiting Power is my favourite village – I love the walk into the village, coming across the fields to the lovely church.

Eric and I had a wonderful trip, it more than met our expectations on every level. I will miss all the pubs and cafes which was such a part of the whole experience for us. We did the best of the Cotswold walk and it was a perfect length for my knees plus it gave us time to explore the villages. They were a history buff’s (like me) dream. The stand outs for us were Guiting Power and the Guiting Guest House, Winchcombe and The Lion Inn, Chipping Campden and The Old Bakehouse. I would have liked to have spent two days in the latter two villages, just soaking up the atmosphere.

All the Hosts and staff at the hotels were helpful and amiable. We found the walk directions mostly easy to follow and great fun, only had to back track twice. Such an accomplishment when we actually completed a walk, it often felt like a scavenger hunt. We did not run into many other walkers except from Broadway to Chipping Campden which was enjoyable to feel like it was just us tramping around the countryside of England. The weather as you know was mixed, with the first week having rainy and wind periods and the last week all sunny. Since it was like the weather here in the Northwest we were prepared and not at all surprised, even the one day of wet feet did not diminish the pleasure of the walks.

A highlight of travel for us is meeting the many people along the way and having good conversations. One encounter that will stay with us is, while walking through Blockley a comment with a couple unloading their car led to an hour long conversation in their garden. That is the serendipity that happens when traveling alone.

So thank you for a great trip, the organization and attention to detail was impressive. We are so glad we choose your company for this long thought about trip. One part of your online advertising that caused me to use your services rather than all the other walking tour companies out there was the, “ Why use us”? “We live here and know the Cotswold”. That just made sense.

My husband and I recently completed the Best of Cotswold Tour. I just wanted to thank you for your services. Everything went so smoothly, without a single “hiccup”! The walks were gorgeous, the accommodations were all lovely, and everyone we met was friendly and gracious.

I would like to send a special shout out to the woman who owns the Cowley House in Broadway. (I don’t remember her name.) I had accidentally left a souvenir in our room at their B&B. Without any prompting from me, she took the souvenir to the next stop on our tour, and so I was able to get it back! That sort of service goes beyond the expected.

I would definitely recommend your service to others!

We just wanted to thank you for arranging a lovely holiday break for us. The weather worked in our favor (only one morning of rain), the accommodations were varied and comfortable, and the walks were quite manageable. Trip planning and arranging was expeditious and hassle-free. Kudos to Cotswold Walks for that. We had left it late but without fuss you tailored an exploration of the Cotswolds to fit our time. Accommodations were, for seven of the nine nights, great. Food was excellent with few exceptions. Map, no surprise, was a key resource. It was easy to use and usually kept us on the right path. Where we did wonder (as in, “Where are we?”) and wander (as in, “This doesn’t look right.”), the electronic map loaded to our smart phone got us orientated and headed in the correct direction. Very little time was lost to navigation and course correction. Weather (I know, not your department but still…) was excellent. Little rain and several exceptionally sunny days meant we could fill our eyes with the lovely countryside panoramas that rolled off to the distances as we walked. The walk from Guiting Power to Winchcombe and then the walk to Broadway were especially lovely.

We thoroughly enjoyed our walk in the Cotswolds. The instructions were very detailed and much appreciated. A couple of times we got a bit off the beaten track, but were able to correct ourselves within minutes by reading the directions carefully. All our accommodations were very good and each one had its own character. The food throughout was exceptional. We found the distances each day to be just right for us, allowing for a leisurely morning start, time to explore each village and then to head out for dinner. Overall, an excellent experience which we would definitely recommend to others.

From start to finish it was the best vacation I have ever had and I travel a lot. The walks were exceptional, routes were great and distances manageable, the accommodations were perfect and well located and my luggage arrived daily without a hitch. The towns and sites were everything that I had hoped for. My wife and I have even talked about doing it again. I would highly recommend your company to anybody. Thanks so much.

My husband and I (ages 70+) did the 9-night Best of the Cotswolds tour in July 2016. We absolutely loved the experience. There were numerous stops and interesting things to do along the way. Each B&B was unique and charming. The freshly-made breakfasts were outstanding. We prepared by doing several 5-mile walks at a local park. The preparatory material was very good. We felt prepared and did the full route and more each day. We got lost a few times the first day, so it was handy having a GPS map program. After that we were more careful and found the directions very good. We highly recommend this trip to others. Walking is a wonderful and relaxing way to see the world.

We had such a wonderful time on our walks. So much better than the Viking River Cruise we took last May. The English country folks are so friendly, the B&Bs were charming and the food was even good. (I think about the pub food we ate in London 25 years ago - quite an improvement.)

We had a most enjoyable holiday and thank you very much for the superb organisation of excellent B&B’s, transfer from Stansted, transport of our luggage and arranging for our train tickets from Moreton-in-Marsh.

We had the fortune of amazing weather with not a cloud in sight for the whole trip and found the walk maps and ‘gate by gate’ instructions easy to follow and only were very briefly uncertain of the track on one occasion.

We would have no hesitation in recommending your walks to friends who might be contemplating a similar holiday.

The B&B’s arranged for us were all excellent with welcoming and friendly owners who were always most helpful in recommending a restaurant or pub for an evening meal and on several occasions booking a table for us.

Three B&B’s that stood out...

Guiting Guest House, Guiting Power – where Barbara had made a gluten free strawberry cream sponge cake for Celia for our arrival and what’s more a normal version for myself.\!!

Old Bakehouse, Chipping Campden – very pretty and atmospheric and where the owner kindly did a much needed load of washing for us.

Dove Cottage, Broadway – pretty house in amongst a much more modern housing estate with the most delightful knot garden.

Our walk was wonderful. All of the B&b's were excellent. The best of all was the Moreton in Marsh B&B.

The only thing that was difficult were the directions. So many trail signs it was hard to stay on the right path. Everyone we met on the walk had the same problem and I think your directions were better then any other vendor.

We had a great time and hope to have another Walk in the near future.

Thank you.

We have not long been back from our Cotswold walk and I would just like to let you know what a wonderful time we had. I did not appreciate when I booked this holiday that we would be going away in late Spring (which had luckily been delayed by the bad winter weather) and was therefore surprised by, not just how beautiful the scenery was, how it was enhanced by our timings. We were blessed with seeing hundreds of tiny lambs close up and a deer gracefully spring by us across a field. The fruit trees were in full blossom, pretty gardens packed with spring flowers and we even saw some primroses and bluebells in the woods. We were, very unexpectedly (we didn't pack sun tan lotion and so got burnt!), also blessed with 6 days of glorious sunshine with only one overcast day when it only managed to rain once we were tucked up in our hotel room.

After the first few days we did wonder if we should have upgraded our accommodation as some of the rooms were on the small side, especially once our bags were open and sprawling! But, all the rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfasts delicious and, if we had stayed in upgraded accommodation, we would never have got to experience the quirky bathroom in Dove Cottage or to meet the lovely Lady at Guiting Power. The bag transportation was magical (they just appeared) and your walking instructions easy to follow, we did not get lost or need to re-trace our steps once. We were even asked for help on a number of occasions by those with maps and compasses!

And the highlight of my trip? Seeing my husband's face (who is not such a keen walker) light up on reading these words 'Here you have an option of a short cut thereby avoiding 900ft of ascent and reducing the length of the route by 2 miles'. He had been dreading day five since day one! Thanks for your hard work putting this all together and we will, and have already, re-commended both you and Cotswold Walks!

I can’t say enough great things about your team and about Cotswold Walks. Every day was a joy. We loved all our accommodations...each one had its own charm. I am so appreciative that it was always so easy to communicate with Andrew and staff and how Andrew went above and beyond to help me problem solve after my hiking boots failed me! Sending you all so much gratitude. I hope our paths cross again!

Just a quick note to thank you all for your time and diligence in the preparation of our Cotswold’s walking holiday with you in June of this year. Your attention to detail was remarkable, especially the presentation of your detailed maps and instructions which were easy to follow once we got the hang of it. The first day was a bit of a challenge but once we found the “gap in the hedge”, we were away!

Maggie and I are heading home this afternoon. Thank you for booking us on our walking trip in the Cotswolds. Your trail instructions, together with the ORD App, were great - we were pretty much on the right trail at all times. When we made a wrong turn we soon back on track. We appreciated the recommendations for refreshment and dinner along the way.

I would not hesitate to recommend Cotswold Walks to friends looking for a pleasant walking trip in the Cotswolds.

Thanks again for helping us with this tour.

We had a lovely peaceful time in the Cotswolds. Your company did everything right including turning off the rain (with the exception of the first morning). We would highly recommend others use your services.

About the only complaint we have is that you should tell people to bring an extra pants belt. With an infinite supply of scones and clotted cream I fear some people will need a larger belt once they gain the weight around the third or fourth day!

We had more than a wonderful holiday. I’d say our trip ranked up there as one of the most fabulous holidays we’ve ever had! I will be happy to provide feedback and write reviews once we’ve had a chance to get reorganized, probably by this weekend.

Once again, thanks for coming through for us and for your company’s professionalism. Other than the few snags with the hotel rooms, everything worked like clockwork, and we came away with a great appreciation for the beauty of the English countryside and the friendliness of the British people. Choosing a walking vacation was one of the best ideas we’ve had. Now we want to do more!

We have completed our tour of the Best of the Cotswolds and we wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed the experience. Your directions were easy to follow. We lost our way on one occasion as we crossed a cow-filled pasture. I think we were more concerned with trying to avoid getting our boots too filthy to properly follow the path. But we were able to get back on track with little time lost. Your choice of B&B's was excellent. Our hosts were warm and friendly and offered advice and assistance when needed. One was even thoughtful enough to prepare a birthday card for my wife. This was one of the best vacations we have ever had and we have already recommended you to several interested friends.

I just wanted to drop a quick note to say thank you and everyone at Cotswolds Walks - our trip was amazing! We had a ball, even in the driving rain hiking up to Broadway Tower. The inns were great, walking guide perfectly fine (and yes we did manage to take a wrong turn each day but quickly got back on track), and loved seeing our bags each afternoon. We really enjoyed it and are thinking of doing another next year. We especially enjoyed meeting and talking with so many generous people on and off the pathways, both locals and other travelers. A couple from New Zealand were on the same itinerary - had dinner with them in Guiting Power and several beers in pubs along the way. Fun to get to know them. We had no problems at all with livestock, gates, traffic, checking in at the inns, anything really. So - thanks again for everything. First rate all the way. Exceeded our expectations. Next time we will heed the advice to bring waterproof boots! Feet got a bit wet the last two days of the walk!

We have just returned home today after a truly amazing hiking experience. Your trip was everything we thought it would be and more. Your guide book was spot on and took us through the most beautiful areas of England. We met some of the nicest people along the way. We will happily recommend your trips and we are planning on returning to do more of your adventures! Thank you so much for all your help.

The route notes and explanations were excellent; easy to follow and very straightforward. Also, noting the places to be able to stop for coffee or lunch (cafes and pubs) was very helpful. On the couple of occasions when we did get lost we were able to quickly get back on the right track. We met some friendly people along the way, including a French couple who were doing exactly the same walk with your company…. we also met a Spanish lady who was not using your company and we helped her with her notes.

The hotels and B&Bs we stayed at were also very good; the breakfasts at each place were substantial and got us off to a great start each day. Staying at places in the centre of the villages made it easy to stroll for dinner locally after a day of walking. The luggage collection and drop-off each day worked perfectly. The biggest surprise of all was the weather – not a drop of rain fell on us while walking for the entire 7 days, which was wonderful.

We finished our walk today & have had a wonderful time. Everything went smoothly. Throughout our trip, we have heard your praises sung. From our B&B hosts, luggage transport people, taxi drivers, restaurant personnel & your web-page support person. We can now add our voice to the chorus. We got "lost" a couple of times over the 8 days but always quickly found ourselves upon retracing our steps. We met people who were following directions from 2-3 of the other walking companies. It sounds like they got lost much more regularly! When we were lost together & I would pull out your directions, they were always impressed by the detail provided in your trail description, maps & photos. We arrived in Chipping Camden at 1:30 yesterday. We called Paul for a taxi to Hidcote Gardens. He returned our call within 30 minutes, sent a driver (Barry) & we were at the garden by 2:15! Finally, June in Winchcombe is a marvel! We woke to miserable rain on Saturday. We were strategizing taxi/bus options to Stanton. June pipes up to say she has things she would like for us to see & when we have seen them she will drop us off at our next B&B! We had a wonderful day with her. I can only hope to have her energy & joy for life when I reach her age. Thank you & best wishes. Adrianne & Marty

We thought that the countryside was beautiful and the routes take advantage of the outstanding beauty of the area. The maps and descriptions were easy to follow and took the worry out of route finding. The luggage transport was flawless ---at the Dove Cottage I left behind my hearing aids. I realized it before we got on the trail and returned for them, but the hostess had already found them and summoned the driver who returned and picked them and delivered them to our next nights accommodation. The walks were not difficult at all and the distances about right for us, not overly strenuous. Overall it was one of the most relaxing and pleasant vacations we have ever had and we would love to do another similar trip. We would highly recommend Cotswold walks. Thanks for a memorable vacation.

Despite the glories of the ancient world around Greece and Turkey and a truly fantastic cruise, the highlight of our time away was our walking holiday around the Cotswolds. We would very happily let other travellers know what a great company you are.

An adventure every day," as KC put it. For desert-dwellers like ourselves, the Cotswolds are a revelation, & traveling by foot through the countryside, over hill and dale, from one beautiful village to the next, felt like a pilgrimage. We had so much fun. We're 2 middle-aged, not-particularly-athletic walkers from the American Southwest, & we thought 8 days of strolling through this beautiful countryside was just perfect. We were very moved by the care & commitment so evident in the landscape & communities we visited. I must mention the Dove Cottage in Broadway; such a lovely old cottage, such a beautiful garden, such a great breakfast! We thought the service, the choice of accommodations, the routes–all excellent.
